Islam believes that there is only one God, the same God of Abraham which is similar to Christianity and you are expected to do good works which is similar to Hinduism and Buddhism that one should do good works.

Believes that there is only one true God "Allah". Allah Almighty forgives pretty much all sins except idol worshiping and trinity beliefs. Worshipping Jesus as God is idolatry as Jesus is only human and not God or the son of God. It is blasphemous to claim that God can have a Son.

What is the main belief and goal of the religion?
There is no certainty of entering heaven as it is dependent on the will of God. Allah is merciful so man can attain salvation through Faith, Prayer, Fasting, Pilgrimage and Alms. Genuine repentance results in Allah's (GOD) forgiveness and entrance into Paradise upon death. Allah Almighty forgives pretty much all sins except idol worshiping and trinity beliefs.
What are the wrong interpretations of the present day people?
Some muslims interpret violence being justified and ok as long as you are defending Islam which is incorrect. Present day Muslims have not memorized the Koran and does not recite the Koran from the heart and just blind following of the rigorous rituals of the Islam faith.
What are the consequences if the religion you believe in is wrong?
If Christianity is correct and Islam is wrong, not accepting and believing in Jesus as dying on the cross as payment for our sins will make the person go to hell upon death. If Hinduism or Buddhism is correct, Muslims will still get a good reincarnation since Muslims are expected to do good works.
