VI. Jesus is God. Some say that Jesus is just one of the greatest prophets but there are solid evidence to prove that Jesus is God.

Facts Jesus is the only person in the history of man who died and rose again from the dead. No other claims resurrection.

Romans 1:3-4 about his Son, who was made for him from the offspring of David ac cording to the flesh, the Son of God, who was predestined in virtue according to the Spirit of sanctification from the resurrection of the dead, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Observation A mere man can’t perform the countless miracles that Jesus did:

• Cures (blind, lepers, paralytics, bleeding woman for 12 years, dropsy, withered hand, deaf mute)
• Exorcism or casting out of demons
• Resurrection of the dead
• Forgiveness of sins
• Control over nature (turning water into wine, draught of fishes, feeding of the 5000+ men and 4000+ men, walking on water, transfiguration, calming the storm, finding a coin in fish’s mouth, cursing of the fig tree)

Decide A mere mortal cannot do what Jesus did. Jesus is the only one in the whole world who claims that He is God and is able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that He is the one true God.

Personal Testimony One of the TV shows that I watched was emphasizing and proving via the scriptures that Jesus was God. When I heard that, instead of my faith strengthening, doubt came to my mind as the speaker sounded very defensive. Seeking guidance and reading more, I concluded that the evidences in the Bible prove that Jesus is God. In the Filipino context, we just assume that people know that Jesus is God. I was surprised to find out that a lot of beliefs, like Islam, Iglesia ni Cristo and others, believe that Jesus is just a prophet and not God. I respect their faith but I do pray that they take a more active stand in seeking the truth as there is a thin line between Faith and superstition.
